BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY'S MISTERY

Pernah dengar kata Bohemian Rhapsody? Ya, sebuah judul lagu dari album A Night At The Opera Yang dinyanyikan oleh Queen, dan diproduseri oleh Roy Thomas Baker pada tahun 1975. Dinotbatkan oleh Guiness Book of Records sebagai Lagu terfavorit di Inggris(31.000 responden lebih). Lagu ini sendiri dikarang oleh Freddy Mercury vokalis dari Queen itu sendiri. Lalu apa menariknya dari lagu jadul ini?

Kita tahu bahwa Freddy Mercury sang pencipta Bohemian Rhapsody adalah penulis lagu yang selalu menggunakan kunci-kunci aneh dalam lagunya sendiri. Nada dasarnya cepat sekali berubah. Musiknya mempunyai struktur chord yang susah dimainkan dan dinyanyikan, demikian juga pada lagu Bohemian Rhapsody. Dari E flat Mayor ke F Minor kemudian ke A Mayor dst. Lagu ini dimulai secara Acapella dengan pertanyaan : Is this the real life? – Is this just fantasy? dan diakhiri dengan dengan suara piano itu memang unik dan menarik, sehingga tidak heran bila hampir semua penggemar musik, terutama penggemar musik senior pasti kenal lagu ini.

Selain terletak pada keindahan partitur, Bohemian Rhapsody menjadi sangat menarik karena lirik lagunya yang mengundang misteri sejalan dengan kepergian sang penciptanya. Struktur lirik Bohemian Rhapsody sangat complicated, dan menimbulkan banyak perdebatan makna lagu. Banyak yang mengatakan bahwa lagu ini sulit dipahami, mengandung kata-kata yang bisa dibilang aneh, terutama di bagian Opera-nya.

Konon dalam proses pembuatan lagu Bohemian Rhapsody ini, Freddie tampak begitu yakin dan mengetahui apa yang harus dilakukannya, sepertinya lagu ini sudah lama terlintas di kepala Freddie. Konon Ia telah mencatat lirik lagunya di sebuah buku notes tua milik ayahnya. Beragam apresiasi dari penikmat mengenai makna lagu itu sering menjadi perdebatan kontroversial sepanjang masa. Salah satunya adalah suatu ketika dia menyebut Bismillah dalam lirik lagu tersebut, tapi disisi lain ia menyebut kata Beelzebub yang berarti Setan.

penggunaan karakter dan frase-frase sejarah aneh membuat pendengar lagu ini kebingungan bahkan “tersihir” walau sebenarnya mereka tidak tau artinya. ada beberapa kata yang terdengar seperti “mantra”, seperti, Scaramouche, Galileo, Beelzebub, Figaro, Mama Mia, dan Magnifico. Menurut yang saya baca dari beberapa buku arti sebagian arti dari “mantra” tersebut adalah:

* Scaramouch berarti seorang pengecut yang banyak omong.
* Fandango berarti tarian.
* Beelzebub merupakan nama/sejenis setan.
* Galileo? Menurut yang saya baca di buku, adalah penemu Teleskop Bintang dari Italia.
* Dan sampai saat ini saya belum pernah mendengar kata Figaro dan Magnifico.
